Our government is like a fat, rich, spoiled child, who has never been told no.

Propped up on an oversized throne; Under armed guard, in a gun free zone.

Feasting on a buffet of corporate interest, drunk on free money and fucking every warm hole he can find.

Mom’s too busy getting high to notice that the house is on fire and the kids are fast asleep.

Apparently someone unplugged the smoke detector because it was making a weird noise.

Oh well… maybe just one more bump.

After all, who’s gonna know?

We’ll just hope for change tomorrow.

just my thoughts but the way it seems to have become. i believe it all really began back with woodrow wilson one of our first progressive presidents. that is where the shit began to go wrong and when our government began to believe they no longer worked for us WE THE PEOPLE WHO ELECTED THEM BUT WE WORKED FOR THEM. since that time it has become more about well as Kennedy said not what your country can do for you but what you could do for your country and the fucking progressive leaders took that to heart only they don’t give a rat’s ass about the country but they see it as what you the people can do for me. with their best in the world healthcare the hundreds of thousands they rake in for little or no work they don’t even care to work together unless it is benefiting them and their families and friends and the cocksuckers who are in the special interests groups who hand them millions upon millions of dollars to push their filthy agendas that make them millions also.it couldn’t have been said better then by one of our greatest founding fathers Thomas Jefferson The people can not be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions it is a lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. We have had 13. states independant 11. years. There has been one rebellion. That comes to one rebellion in a century and a half for each state. What country ever existed a century and a half without a rebellion? And what country can preserve it’s liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is it’s natural manure. Our Convention has been too much impressed by the insurrection of Massachusets: and in the spur of the moment they are setting up a kite to keep the hen yard in order. I hope in god this article will be rectified before the new constitution is accepted.” . we are at that place in history where it is again time for the tree of liberty to be watered. for surly if we the people do not there will e no more WE THE PEOPLE THERE WILL ONLY BE WE THE SLAVES TO THE TYRANTS RUNNING THIS REPUBLIC. we see it daily as they raise taxes or take someones land or home under imminent domain. as they force their bullshit upon our heads and tell us they know better what is good for us. how to eat what kind of healthcare we should have how our second amendment is theirs to toy with along with our freedom under the N.D.A..A. THE MILITARIZATION OF OUR LAW ENFORCEMENT WHO BY THE WAY ARE ALL TO WILLING TO ACCEPT AND BECOME THE ENFORCEMENT ARM OF MOST OF THESE TRAITOROUS SON OF A BITCHES. YOU KNOW ALL THOSE ASSHOLES WHO IN WASHINGTON COLLABORATE WITH OUR ENEMIES WHO ARM THEM FEED THEM AND HAND THEM OUR HARD EARNED TAX DOLLARS UNDER THE GUISE OF FOREIGN AID. LIKE HOW WE GIVE CHINA 20 MILLION A YR YET HAVE BEEN TOLD WE OWE THE MILLIONS UPON BILLIONS IN LOANS FOR THE RECENT BAILOUT OF WHO THE BANKS THE BIG SHOTS THE CAR MANUFACTURES NO WHEN AND ONLY WHEN WE THE PEOPLE GROW A PAIR OF BALLS AGAIN AND STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT WHAT IS OURS AND TAKE THIS NATION BACK TO IT;S ROOTS WIL WE EVER TRULY SEE FREEDOM AND HAVE UNALIENABLE RIGHTS AGAIN.

You are abusing Jefferson’s choice of words. He was explaining why we should tolerate an occasional rebellion by misguided individuals. He was not suggesting an occasional overthrow of the federal government.

Six years ago, the electorate voted for “change.” That change has landed us where we are today. A weaker economy, a weaker military, a weaker job market. That said, the POTUS has attempted to use every tool that past POTUS’s have used to jump start the US economy (infrastructure upgrades) and Congress has thwarted him at every turn. In the past it was infrastructure projects that “jump-started” the economy in years past. Frankly, it’s time to vote the bastards out of office. The POTUS is term-limited and so should be members of Congress. The Founding Fathers did not see holding political office as a lifetime career. Professional politicians need to be sent home and learn to hold a “real job” so they can learn how real people live. Additionally, no lifetime health care and no pension for serving in Congress. Two term limits for Representatives and 3 term limits for Senators. Then go home and get a real job and become a contributing member of society.

I agree with most of what you said but you had me a little confused early on when you talk about POTUS using his power to try and jump start the economy.

This is where the problem lies. A president cannot jump start an economy. The people and the free market can. We have gotten to a point where we think the government is the one who makes the world work but that is not the case.

Spending is not the answer. Shovel ready jobs was a joke and a guise for a large slush fund that was used to pay back campaign contributions with our tax dollars.

I agree with term limits but I think it is more important to remove the central bank than to do anything else.

Eliminate the federal reserve, term limits on all members of congress. House and senate, return the Senate appointments to the states and not the people, pass a balanced budget amendment and secure the borders and start slashing the size of bureaucracies.

We must also eliminate the puppeteers. We must reestablish the checks and balances but I think this is not something that will happen. The natural state of politics is to shift towards the liberalization of laws and society. A progressive nature that always devolves into tyranny and state control of all the mans of production.

This is what the founders tried to protect us from. They could not see the exact circumstances but they knew exactly how we would fall and we are watching it happen.

The worst part is that it is happening on purpose. This is not incompetence, its bold face lying to the American people. It is disgusting and it has to stop. I’m just not sure who is going to stop it.

100% on Raymmar. Thats exactly the problem. The privatized banks, the federal reserve that our government so conveiniently uses to their advantage, taking out loans from these banks and drops off a nice IOU — but it’s truthfully a TOU (they owe you). the government takes out these loans, spends more money and then slowly attempts to pay it back using our tax dollars. This in turn has led us to become nothing more than debt slaves to our government. Now we have gotten to a point where things are getting worse each day. And sadly, most of the population walks around all day like they’ve got their eyes glued shut and look to the government to hold their hand and guide them to the nearest sink so they can clear it out. We put too much trust in our government, you’re right, we think they know what’s best so we just accept what they feed us. But what we don’t understand is that they’re spoon feeding us lies, corruption, and bondage while they laugh knowing we’re moving towards something much worse. Tyranny is a good fit, but I think there’s something bigger were moving towards, it’s a global shift and it’s on the rise. It’s moving quickly in a direction I truthfully fear. I completely agree, I don’t know who it will be to fix it, but whoever is gonna do it, I just pray that he/she does soon.

Great poem. What you describe is the logical result of a broken system. Actually, I’d be surprised if the members of congress were “not” as you described. The government cant be blamed, it is merely a result. Blaming the government for problems is like blaming rain for flowing into the house through a hole in the roof. Damn you woodchucks, quit chuckin my wood!

Thanks Dave. I agree, the system is broken. The government must be blamed but we must also remember that we are responsible for that government and therefore part of that blame falls on our heads.

Rain is naturally occurring, government is man made. If you said it was like rain coming through a hole in the roof that we caused, then I would agree with the analogy but to pretend that the government is some arbitrary organism that is not purposefully protecting the power of the elite and destroying the middle class is a little naive.
